New Bailiffs

We now have a further four new bailiffs on the complex.

They are all experienced anglers very familiar with the venue.

Whilst their main role is to ensure that only members fish the venue and that the rules are strictly adhered to they are always most willing to help and advise members on the rules and techniques for the water.

Please don't be afraid or shy to ask for help or advise.

Parking

Members have been ignoring the rule on parking in the roadway.

The rule officially from our landlords LVRPA is ''NO PARKING ON ANY ROADWAY OR TRACK''

Due to good relationship between them and our management committee we have been allowed to park to unload / load.

This means you stop unload your gear in your chosen swim and without any unpacking you move the car to the car park.

On leaving you pack 'everything' up putting it at the back of your swim get your car and stop by your swim load up and leave the fishery.

Making sure you leave everything clean even if it was not when you arrived.

Any member found assembling gear before parking up or still packing up any gear with their car at the swim will be booked and receive a six months ban.

!!!! NO EXCUSES, THIS IS YOUR FIRST AND LAST WARNING !!!!

We intend doing some after dark checks as reports are that some members are bringing their car to the swim to sleep in.

Thank You & Merry Christmas

To all the anglers/bailiffs and staff in the LVRP office, this year has seen many changes including myself becoming head bailiff.

The lakes have now become a great place to fish, loads of hard work has been carried out, swim building, general repairs, fish stocks etc. and there are plans to do more and it's not been easy at times.

Thanks to everyone, there really have been massive improvements over quite a short space of time.

I've had lots of nice feed back saying that it's... a great place to be now, anglers are respecting the place and I feel now we can keep it that way without too much hard work.

I might only have a small bailiff team but the one's I have got work really hard and keep the place clean as well, thanks chaps.

Lets keep it all going well.

Many thanks to you all.
*MERRY CHRISTMAS* & A HAPPY NEW YEAR...... Tight Lines.

WARNING ON RULES

Please read your venue rules card and take note. We are tightening up this season.

There will not be any excuses bans will be the result.

So far only 4 weeks into our year there have been 3 bans given out and one refusal of club membership.

If you don't want to find yourself up in lights, named and shamed on the 'BANS' page please read them again.

Bailiffing

As most know our Head Bailiff is retiring so we need to look at the whole situation.

We are arranging a meeting about bailiffing at the start of April.

Over the last few months a lot has been banded about on how the pits should be run and controlled this is the time when we can put our heads together talk about what we can and can not do and come up with a plan of action and sort bailiffing for the season ahead.

Everyone is welcome to come with constructive criticisms and most important ideas.

Work Party

Richard has arranged the following dates for work parties at the pits, each club has to supply a force on one party however you are most welcome to attend any of the dates but make sure you book in with whoever is running the party leaving your name and club.

Get in touch with your club to let them know you will be supporting them and arrange a date if one not already arranged.

Work parties are the best way of getting to know a water as many of the guys working have spent many hours even years fishing the pits.

Railway Pit Eels

As you will remember we lost some large Eels earlier on and the EA found they suffered from Herpesvirus Anguillae.

The Environment Agency’s National Fish Labs at Brampton and CEFAS with L.V.R.P.A Fishery department are monitoring the situation.

Tuesday 25th November has been scheduled in to electro-fish Railway pit.

Please cooperate if you are down on the fishery.

We have had no further problems it's just a check up thanks.

UPDATED 31ST OCTOBER

Litter Pick

There will be a ‘litter picking party’ Sunday 16th November.

This has been arranged by a few of the guys that care about the complex.

If you can spare an hour or two you will be most welcome, if we get enough people it should only take an hour.

If you have gloves, litter picker arm, black bag that would be a help if not don’t be put off they will try and get some spares, if you have spares also it will help.

If you can take pictures and Email then to me I will put some on the web along with any stories about the day.

Watch this page for updates and times etc.

Please try and support the guys that care for the fishery and your enjoyment there.

Mike Smith
